چکیده
Acknowledgements The rst person I want to thank is my advisor, JJ org Siekmann. He virtually introduced me into the eld of artiicial intelligence. It is his genuine interest in my work and his enthusiasm that continuously encouraged me throughout my thesis work. I have been very fortunate to have the opportunity to work within the {MKRP group. I am especially indebted to Christoph Lingenfelder, who explained to me the problem of proof transformation, and integrated me into the group. I am equally indebted to Manfred Kerber. The declarative computational model for human oriented deduction is a collaborative work with him. I wish to thank Dan Nesmith for the helpful discussions on natural deduction proofs, and for his valuable suggestions and prompt help with respect to implementation. Thanks also go to Michael Kohlhase and Erica Melis, for many stimulating discussions. Finally, a very special thanks goes to Armin Fiedler, who implemented part of the system PROVERB. I beneeted greatly from the natural language generation group at the University of Saarbr ucken. I am greatly indebted to Norbert Reithinger, who not only introduced to me the young eld of NL generation, but also served as a most competent advisor throughout my thesis work. A very special thanks is due to Wolfgang Finkler and Anne Kilger, who have generously allowed me to use their generator TAG-GEN, and have always provided prompt support. I also want to thank Robert Dale, who pointed out to me the diiculty in the seg-mentation of texts. earlier versions of this thesis, I want to thank them for their exact reading and their constructive suggestions. Michael kohlhase, Dan Nesmith and Armin Fiedler also read part of the thesis. I have made too many friends in Germany to name them all. But I have to mention some of them who made the last several years not only bearable but also delightful: Ute Ambrosiums and Rolf Socher-Ambrosiums, Gerd Gaberdan, Barbara Sch utt-Kerber and Manfred Kerber. The life in a foreign country is always accompanied with homesickness. It has been the friendship with that has made me feel at home time and again. My parents have had more of an impact on my life than anyone else. They have supported me unconditionally and encouraged me continuously throughout my life. I wouldn't have nished this thesis without everything they have done for me. I sincerely thank the Konrad-Adenauer foundation, who has provided …

متن کاملOn the oriented perfect path double cover conjecture
An oriented perfect path double cover (OPPDC) of a graph $G$ is a collection of directed paths in the symmetric orientation $G_s$ of $G$ such that each arc of $G_s$ lies in exactly one of the paths and each vertex of $G$ appears just once as a beginning and just once as an end of a path. Maxov{'a} and Ne{v{s}}et{v{r}}il (Discrete Math. 276 (2004) 287-294) conjectured that ...
